Try Sailing Day – a the Leven Yacht Club, 3 Dial Street, Ulverstone, 11am to 3pm.

Come down to the Leven Yacht Club and give sailing a try!

Club members will be at the club ready to introduce members of the public to the sport. There will be boats ranging from 8 foot long dinghies designed for small children, fast and nimble multihulls through to large, stable trailerable yachts complete with cabins. The club also has windsurfers available to try. Participants can get on the water with a member or if they have had some previous experience, use a club boat themselves. Sailing will be in the river and near the mouth of the river off West Ulverstone Beach. At least one support boat will be on the water for safety at all times.

The event will be run from the Yacht Club at 3 Dial Street between Pedro’s Restaurant and Otto’s Grotto. Showers and changerooms are available. The event itself is free, BBQ food will be available for a gold coin donation. 

If you'd like to try this great summer sport for all ages 8+ you just need to turn up with bathers, sunscreen and a towel. If sailing on a larger boat, you probably won't even get your feet wet - unless you want to!
