ROOSTER DAY

ROOSTER DAY

The Ulverstone Poultry club will be trialling a rooster day as a community service.  Anyone that has unwanted roosters are welcome to bring them along to the poultry pavilion on the showgrounds in Flora Street, West Ulverstone (just inside the entrance near the railway line and hardware store).

We ask that they be free of disease and people can pop them in a show pen.  The club will either re-home them or or humanely put them down.

This service will be provided for a gold coin donation per bird to help raise funds for the Ulverstone Poultry Club.  You are welcome to remain anonymous and a donation box will be set up for your convenience.

We will run this service on the Sunday morning straight after our open show on the Saturday and again in August on the Sunday straight after our annual show.  So the first rooster day will be Sunday 29th April commencing at 9am through to 10am and again on Sunday 12th August 9am through to 10am.

If this service to the community proves successful it will become an ongoing event.

Any queries please contact Ainslee Simpson phone 040 943 9737 or Jill Weaver 042 813 8973.
