Live Jazz @ the Wharf presents From Hobart Milestones – 3pm to 5.30pm.  Gnomon Pavilion, Ulverstone’s Wharf Precinct.  Milestones is made-up of leading Hobart based Jazz musicians specially formed for this performance at The Wharf in Ulverstone.  Alistair Dobson is a multi-reed player, bandleader and teacher/lecturer at the Hobart Conservatorium of Music.  Matthew Boden is also a teacher/lecturer at the Hobart Con, and a much credentialed pianist/accompanist.  Nick Haywood, again a Hobart Con teacher/lecturer, is one of the most “in demand” bass players in this country.  Ted Vining drummer/bandleader, described by U.S trumpet great Nat Adderley as a “National Treasure”, was inducted into the Australian Jazz Hall Of Fame in 2017.  Together, as the name Milestones suggests, they will perform a selection of music written by Jazz greats – Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins, Cannonball Adderley, and more ….  This will be an amazing show for just $15!  Doors open 2.30.
