Try Sailing Day – Leven Yacht Club, 3 Dial Street, Ulverstone 11am to 3pm. Free event. Hot food and snacks available at reasonable prices. The Leven Yacht Club will once again host its very popular annual Try Sailing Day. Club members are looking forward to giving members of the public a taste of the sport. There will be boats ranging from 8 foot dinghies designed for small children to fast, nimble catamarans, and large, stable trailer sailers. Participants can get on the water with a member, or if they have had previous experience, they can take a club boat out by themselves. Sailing will take place in the protection of the river, and rescue and support craft will be on the water at all times. Anybody aged 8 years old and over is welcome to get on the water. People under 18 years old need to be accompanied by an adult. Showers and change rooms are available, and participants need only bring bathers, sun protection and a towel.
