Festival of Small Halls Summer Tour 2023 - Sulphur Creek Hall

  • Sulphur Creek Hall 310 Preservation Drive Sulphur Creek, TAS, 7316 Australia (map)

Sulphur Creek Hall, TAS, Punnilerpanner Country

Sulphur Creek Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Punnilerpanner People. Sulphur Creek on Tasmania’s beautiful North West Coast is a small community of approximately 500 people. Positioned to look out across the waters of Bass Strait, The Sulphur Creek Hall takes centre-place in the community positioned between the sea and rich farming land. The Memorial Hall was built to commemorate those who died in service in WWI and WWII and has been the centre of the community ever since. In 1954 the Advocate newspaper reported the hall would take 5000 pounds to complete, money well spent. A plaque placed in the foyer bears the names of the four local men who died. A true Community Hall, it is the perfect venue to bring local community and the community of music lovers together. We can’t wait to see it lit up and loved as part as of the Festival of Small Halls.
Festival of Small Halls returns to Sulphur Creek on Wednesday, 4 January 2023 with Emily Lubitz and The Paul McKenna Band. Opening the show will be local act Ned Eaves! Ned Eaves is a Penguin based singer and guitarist aspiring to play more live music. He likes to draw the listener in with gentle songs which are rich in both melody and story. Hot spuds will be available at the Hall from 6-7pm, catered by the Sulphur Creek Community Garden.
Bar Service will be available at the Hall from 6-7pm, and during intermission, catered by Penguin Surf Life Saving Club.
