Gunns Plains Hall stands on the traditional lands of the Tommeginne People. It was September 1925, almost 100 years ago, when the local mayor of Ulverstone at the time opened the Gunns Plains Hall with a grand ball. It began with a parcel of land donated by a generous local farming family (the Bonneys) and a community came together to build a community hall. In the Gunns Plains valley, the Leven River runs through, renowned for trout fishing and a great spot to canoe or kayak. You can visit the wonders of the limestone show caves or spend a day at the wildlife park, taste the local wines or just take a walk to see some waterfalls.
Festival of Small Halls rolls into Gunns Plains on Wednesday, 8 January 2025 with Susan O’Neill and Monique Clare. Opening the show will be local act Silver Zephyr!
