Residency:
Portrait art quilts require an eye for detail and an understanding of colour and texture.
Mary embraces this challenge with enthusiasm. Her portraits are both based on legendary female artists (so far - actresses and singers) and from photos she has taken that speak to her (portraits of people taken when on holidays and also my pets). Each portrait quilt is a labour of love and can take an extremely long time from design through to the finished piece - from 100 to 200 or more hours, depending on the complexity.
