Workshop:
Freestyle Stitching - Explore the freedom and fun of freestyle stitching using your sewing machine. Have you ever wanted to try freestyle stitching but didn’t feel confident? Or maybe you want to hone your skills? we will explore several techniques to create freestyle stitched artwork using your sewing machine like a drawing tool. Our focus will be trees, mushrooms, and birds. This class is suitable for all levels.
Materials and equipment required for freestyle stitching workshop:
Serviced sewing machine. Please bring your manual just in case. Extension table if you have one. You must be able to drop your feed dogs. Extension cord and power board.
Extra bobbins for your machine. 3 and 4 will do.
Free motion foot to suit your machine.
Embroidery or small scissors for cutting threads.
Fabric scissors.
Sewing machine needles for quilting size 80 or 90.
Quilting gloves if you have them.
1mt of calico cotton fabric of good quality.
Cotton thread or poly threads. No rayon.
You will need a minimum of 3 different shades (Dark Medium Light) of thread in the colour that you would like your trees to be in. No Rayon threads. Please bring other coloured threads if you can.
Black and white cotton or acrylic thread.
Water erasable pen or a Frixion Pen.
Inktens or water colour pencils if you have them. If you do not have these pencils. I will have a couple of sets.
Paint brushes sizes 6 or 8 round or flat. Or any small paint brushes you own.
