The world’s first public planetarium show took place on 7 May 1925. Dr George will describe the development of planetariums, which now number thousands worldwide. While audiences have been thrilled with the view of the artificial starry sky, astronomers have been making amazing advances in research – one of the biggest discoveries also took place in 1925! Dr George will discuss that and many other exciting breakthroughs of the past 100 years.
