To celebrate National Science Week Wings Wildlife Park are hosting a ‘Junior Keeper Experience’ workshop.

Kids! Get involved in Science Week by discovering the science behind animal care right in the heart of where it all takes place.

Join us on Saturday 18th October 2020 for a taste of what is involved in working behind the scenes at Wing’s Wildlife Park – home to the largest collection of Tasmanian wildlife in Australia.

Our Junior Keeper Experience offers the unique opportunity for children aged 6 to 14 to get hands-on and experience behind the scenes action at Wing’s Wildlife Park by engaging with wildlife and the keepers who manage them and assisting with food preparation and maintenance of wildlife enclosures.

Kicking off at 11.00am the Junior Keeper Experience will give a glimpse into the day to day duties of a wildlife keeper and include interactive learning opportunities such as food preparation and enrichment, animal feeding and cleaning animal enclosures. Tailored information sessions on some of our most interesting Australian wildlife will give plenty of opportunity for questions from inquiring minds and Junior Keepers will break for lunch during the day (lunch is included as part of this experience).

Our vision is to encourage children to improve their knowledge in wildlife conservation and awareness or even consider a career in animal management, care or captive wildlife without the need to leave the North West Coast of Tasmania.
